A man reported to the Archdiocese in August 1995 that he was sexually abused by Father John Mountain multiple times between 1941-1943 when he was 11-13 years old and again between 1945-1949 when he was 15-17 years old. The abuse included fondling and anal and oral rape and occurred in the rectory at St. Jerome’s Church and later at St. Lawrence Church in Maryland. The Archdiocese made a mandatory report to authorities, but Father John Mountain has not been listed as credibly accused by the Archdiocese.
