Justin G. Witkin

Justin is one of the founders and is the Managing Partner for Aylstock, Witkin, Kreis & Overholtz. Under his guidance, AWKO has grown from two attorneys and two staff members when it started in 2001, to more than twenty attorneys and three hundred staff members today. Justin’s management is focused on servant leadership – empowering others to lead and achieve great things on behalf of their clients and colleagues. Justin’s management has seen him voted both “Best Attorney” and “Best Boss” in Pensacola news publications.

After decades of litigation experience, Justin currently serves as settlement counsel for AWKO. Over the last ten years, Justin has negotiated settlements for tens of thousands of AWKO clients, securing over two billion dollars in settlement funds. Justin is responsible for implementing these settlements – designing methodologies and protocols to allocate and distribute settlement funds in a just and efficient manner.

Justin received his B.S. in finance from Florida State University in 1992, and graduated with high honors from the University of Florida College of Law in 1996. While in law school, Justin was an editor on the Florida Law Review, and published an article entitled “A Time for Change: Reexamining the Constitutional Status of Minors” 47 Fla. L. Rev. 113 (1995).

Upon graduation, Justin was installed as a member of the Order of the Coif. After graduating from law school, Mr. Witkin served as a law clerk to the Honorable Ira DeMent and the Honorable Truman S. Hobbs on the United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama. He then served as a law clerk to the Honorable Edward Carnes on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

Justin is currently licensed to practice before all Florida and Mississippi state and federal courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and is admitted to numerous federal courts across the United States.
