Alexandra "Ali" Marsh
Of Counsel Attorney
Office: San Francisco, CA
Ali Marsh joined AWKO Law LLP's new San Francisco office in 2026 and will be working with AWK Survivor Advocate Attorneys (AWK SAA), the firm's dedicated practice representing survivors of sexual assault, abuse, and exploitation, bringing a background centered on trauma-informed advocacy for survivors of violence and human rights abuse. Before joining the firm, Ali served as a Victims' Rights Staff Attorney at the Cooperative Restraining Order Clinic in San Francisco, where she represented survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and gender-based violence throughout criminal proceedings and worked closely with the San Francisco Police Department, District Attorney's Office, and Sheriff's Department to support clients through every stage of the process.
Ali's path to survivor advocacy has taken her well beyond California courtrooms. As a Legal Fellow with Reprieve's Africa Death Penalty Team, she led advocacy and strategic litigation for 24 clients facing death sentences in Malawi, conducting evidentiary investigations and trauma-informed prison interviews and drafting appellate briefs before Malawi's High and Supreme Courts. She has also worked with the Center for Justice and Accountability on survivor-centered litigation under the Alien Tort Statute and with the ACLU of Southern California on reproductive justice and transgender rights matters.
Ali earned her Juris Doctor from the University of California, Davis School of Law, where she graduated with a Public Interest Law Certificate as a Dean's Merit Scholar, founded the Sex Workers Advocacy Project, and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of International Law and Policy. She brings that same combination of legal rigor and survivor-centered practice to her work.
