Eric Stracener joined Aylstock, Witkin, Kreis & Overholtz (AWKO) in March 2025. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Millsaps College, with honors, and earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Mississippi in 1996.

Before joining AWKO, Eric was a founding member of Stracener and Neely and has been practicing law in Mississippi state and federal courts since 1996. He holds an “AV Preeminent” rating, universally recognized as the highest peer rating available. Eric has extensive experience handling cases involving wrongful death, medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, and vehicular accidents, including 18-wheeler collisions. He has tried numerous six- and seven-figure cases to verdict and has successfully defended these cases on appeal.

At AWKO, Eric’s practice focuses on video game addiction, social media addiction, cryptocurrency fraud, Los Angeles fire claims and litigation involving medical devices and pharmaceuticals. His current efforts are particularly centered on addressing the growing crisis of video game and social media addiction, especially among young users. Eric is passionate about helping children and families who are suffering due to video gaming addiction. He is dedicated to raising awareness about the harmful effects of addictive digital platforms and advocating for accountability from companies that prioritize profit over users’ health. Through his work, Eric strives to make a difference in the lives of those impacted by digital addiction.

Community and professional service are essential to Eric and the firm. He has served on the Mississippi Bar’s Committee for Character and Fitness and the Lawyers and Judges Assistance Program. Additionally, he has been a member of the Board of Governors of the Mississippi Association for Justice. Eric has also been actively involved in his community, serving as Board President of the Jackson Zoo, and a board member of several non-profit organizations.
