Kathleen Devlin
Of Counsel Attorney
Kathleen is an Associate Attorney at AWK Survivor Advocate Attorneys. Since she was admitted to practice law in 2014, Kathleen has built her career around advocating on behalf of society’s most vulnerable populations.
Prior to joining AWK, Kathleen served as an Assistant District Attorney in Rockland County, NY for over twelve years. Throughout her entire tenure in the office, she was assigned to the Special Victim’s Unit, handling cases involving child physical and sexual abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, and elder abuse. As a part of this assignment, Kathleen received extensive training regarding forensic interviewing of children, as well as trauma-informed interviewing techniques. In 2020, Kathleen was appointed as the head of the Special Victim’s Unit, where she supervised a staff of attorneys and collaborated with law enforcement and victim advocacy groups. This role afforded her the opportunity to educate those working in the Special Victims arena on topics such victim interviewing, case investigation, and trial practice related to these sensitive matters. As the head of the Special Victims Unit, Kathleen also worked with local law enforcement and the New York State Police to establish an Internet Crimes Against Children Unit (ICAC) in Rockland County.
In addition to her incredibly rewarding experience as a Special Victims attorney, Kathleen also conducted extensive litigation throughout her time as an prosecutor. She has litigated many violent crimes ranging from Murder to Sexual Assault and Weapons Possession. She ended her career with the District Attorney’s Office at the position of First Assistant District Attorney.
Kathleen obtained her Juris Doctor from Pace University School of Law in 2013 and her Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Northeastern University in 2009.
