Mary Liu

Mary Liu joined AWKO in 2012. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida in 1994. Before attending law school, Mary built a successful 13-year career in management consulting, executive coaching, and human resources. In 2010, she graduated summa cum laude from Nova Southeastern University School of Law, ranking in the top two percent of her class.
Mary’s practice focuses on sexual assault, social media addiction, medical device, and pharmaceutical litigation. In 2018, she founded AWKO’s nationwide sexual abuse and assault litigation practice, driven by her deep commitment to representing victims and survivors and giving them a strong voice to share their stories.
Prior to joining AWKO, Mary served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Florida, where she represented the state in civil prosecutions involving child abuse, abandonment, and neglect. She also owned and managed a successful family law practice, handling cases involving divorce, domestic partnerships, child custody and support, and grandparent visitation. In addition, Mary taught Civil Procedure and Community Property as an Assistant Professor of Law at Irvine University College of Law.
Mary is licensed to practice law in both Florida and California. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Victim Rights Law Center, and co-chairs the American Association for Justice’s CDA Section 230 Litigation Group, which advocates for victims and survivors of online exploitation.
