Zantac and its generic, ranitidine, have been found to contain the cancer-causing chemical NDMA (N-nitrosodimethylamine). This chemical is used in gasoline, rocket fuel, as a stabilizer in industrial materials, and as an additive to lubricants.<\/span><\/p>\n

Zantac is sold by the manufacturer Sanofi, as well as generically under the name ranitidine.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lawsuits filed against the manufacturer maintain that <\/span>Zantac contains levels of NDMA that are 26,000 times higher<\/b> than the levels allowed by the FDA. In the recent past, several blood pressure medications that were found to contain the cancer-causing chemical NDMA were recalled from the market.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ranitidine (also known by its brand name Zantac) is a medication that is used to decrease stomach acid production. It is commonly used to treat peptic ulcer disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and Zollinger\u2013Ellison syndrome.<\/span><\/p>\n
