Douglass A. Kreis

Mr. Kreis received his B.A. from Mercer University in Political Science attending under a four year academic/athletic scholarship and received a juris doctorate from Cumberland School of Law. While in law school, Mr. Kreis earned the highest grade Book Award in Constitutional Law and the distinction as Cumberland's 1997 Environmental/Toxic Tort Law Representative, participating in the National Environmental/Toxic Tort Law Conference in Washington, D.C. Mr. Kreis gained significant trial advocacy and legal briefing experience through both Cumberland's Trial Advocacy Program/Moot Court Competitions and externship with Alabama Supreme Court Justice, Michael Bolin. 

Mr. Kreis practices exclusively within the areas of pharmaceutical, medical device and consumer class actions litigation and has successfully represented clients in the following litigations: Medical Devices (Smith & Nephew Profix Knee, Bausch & Lomb ReNu Contact Lens Solution, Duragesic Patch, Guidant ICD, and Medtronic ICD); and Pharmaceutical Drugs and OTC products (FenPhen, Baycol, Bextra, and Ephedra).  Today, Mr. Kreis is focused on the following matters:  Medical Devices (Stryker Trident ceramic acetabular hip prosthesis, Zimmer Durom Cup hip prosthesis, Bausch & Lomb ReNu Contact Lens Solution, AMO Complete MoisturePlus Multipurpose Solution, Kugel Mesh hernia patch, Shoulder Pain Pump, Contaminated Syringe; and Pharmaceutical Drugs (Digitek, Paxil and Seroquel).  

Mr. Kreis is admitted to all Florida State Courts, the Southern and Middle United States District Courts of Florida and the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals; and District Court of Colorado. Additionally, Mr. Kreis has filed pro hoc vice applications and litigated in courts throughout the Country including: Alabama; Georgia; Massachusetts; New Jersey; New York; Illinois; and Indiana.  Mr. Kreis is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice and the Escambia-Santa Rosa County Bar Association.
