He earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of West Florida where he studied Legal Administration. After undergraduate studies, Mr. Thornburgh worked as a mass tort paralegal and law clerk for the firm. In 2004, Mr. Thornburgh attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School where he received his Juris Doctorate degree and graduated with honors (cum laude). Mr. Thornburgh rejoined the firm as a lawyer in 2007 and primarily practices in the areas of: pharmaceutical litigation, medical device litigation, consumer class actions, wrongful death, personal injury and long-term care and health insurance disputes; and is currently involved in the following matters: Transvaginal Mesh device litigations against Johnson & Johnson, C.R. Bard, Boston Scientific, and Mentor; SSRI birth defects, Zofran birth defects, Power Morcellator cancer, and Baby Powder cancer litigation.

Recently, Mr. Thornburgh played a pivotal role in litigating hormone replacement therapy cases in courts around the country against several multibillion dollar manufacturers. Mr. Thornburgh has played a principal role in the Transvaginal Mesh litigation by helping develop the science and experts and by taking numerous corporate and fact witness depositions both in the MDL and in state courts around the U.S. Mr. Thornburgh has participated in numerous trials in the Transvaginal Mesh litigation which have resulted in multimillion dollar jury verdicts or mid-trial settlements.  Since 2007, Mr. Thornburgh has helped secure hundreds of millions of dollars in settlements against numerous Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Thornburgh is currently licensed to practice law in Florida and Minnesota state courts, the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota and the Middle District of Florida. Mr. Thornburgh is a member of the Florida Bar Association, the Minnesota Bar Association, American Association for Justice and the First Circuit Justice Association and has been nominated as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers in 2010-2011 and 2014-2015.
