Father Alfred Ewanowski, whose name is also spelled as Evanowski or Evanoski, was included on the Baltimore Archdiocese’s list of accused in 2019. The list noted an allegation reported to the Archdiocese in 2003, accusing Father Alfred Ewanowski of abusing an Archbishop Curley High School student in 1967. Later, additional allegations emerged regarding abuse by EFather Alfred Ewanowski while he served as a faculty member at Curley High, where he was assigned from 1968 to 1976.
Ewanowski died in 1990. The MD Attorney General’s Report released on April 6, 2023, included Ewanowski, showing that the man who had come forward in 2003 initially reported his abuse in 1999 in a letter to the former Curley High president. He also reported that he had told a faculty member about the abuse during that time. The Archdiocese and High School settled with the man in 2009. Another former student reported abuse by Ewanowski in 1969, and a settlement record in December 2015 indicated another allegation of abuse by the priest in about 1972 at Curley High.
