Father Daniel Free was publicly named as an accused individual by the Baltimore Archdiocese on April 24, 2019. The Archdiocese received allegations regarding Father Daniel Free in 1998 and 2012, which were reported to law enforcement and the Passionists. Father Daniel Free was removed from ministry in 2000 and passed away on June 11, 2016.
The Maryland Attorney General’s report released on April 5, 2023, included Free and revealed that both of his victims were girls. They reported that the abuse involved torture and other men wearing masks, while Free was not wearing a mask. One victim reported being abused in the mid-1950s at the age of about 5, while the other was abused at the age of 13-14 in the mid-1960s.
