Ordained: 1931
Status: Accused
Died: 03/19/1984
Diocese: Archdiocese of Baltimore MD

Father James Lannon was publicly accused by the archdiocese on October 15, 2018, following a report of abuse received in 1953. He was suspended from his ministry in 1953 and 1954 but returned after undergoing an evaluation. However, he was permanently removed from parish ministry in 1958 and passed away in 1984. He was later included on the Baltimore Archdiocese’s list on April 24, 2019.

The list contains an allegation of abuse by a woman in 2002, which occurred in the mid-1930s when Father Lannon was assigned to Baltimore parishes from 1933 to 1943. He later became a priest of the Washington DC Archdiocese when it was established in the 1940s. Notably, the Baltimore archdiocese’s list from April 2019 identified Father Lannon as a Sulpician, but this designation was removed from the list in June 2022.
