Ordained: 1989
Status: Accused
Diocese: Diocese of Wilmington DE and MD

Father Kenneth Martin, a former lay teacher at Loyola Blakefield High School in the 1970s, was arrested in 2001 for perpetrating child sex abuse. In December of the same year, he was adjudicated with no trial, and the court ruled “probation before judgment.”

He was included on the list of abusive priests released by Bishop Saltarelli on November 16, 2006, as well as on the list released by the Baltimore Archdiocese in September 2002. In September 2008, he was “formally barred” by the Vatican. Despite his sentence, Father Martin worked for an entity owned by the Chicago Archdiocese for several years. Wilmington paid cash payments until November 2009. In December 2012, the release of his personnel files was blocked, but his pension was reinstated by court order.
