Father Paul Knapp was named on Baltimore’s list of priests, religious priests, and brothers accused of sexual misconduct in September 2002. The Archdiocese learned from the Redemptorists in 1993 that an individual had alleged sexual abuse by Father Knapp about 20 years prior.
Father Knapp served as an associate pastor at St. Mary (Annapolis) from 1973 to 1981, and then he was assigned to a parish in the Toledo diocese from 1981 to 1983. He left the priesthood in 1995 and was laicized in 2006. In 2019, he was added to the Toledo diocese’s list.
