Father William Braun, who was ordained for the Baltimore archdiocese in 1942 and later joined the Sulpician order in 1949, was publicly named as an accused by the Baltimore archdiocese on its list on April, 24th 2019.
In 2002, an allegation was made against Father William Braun that he sexually abused a boy between 1947 and 1949, starting the summer after the boy’s 7th grade at St. Dominic’s School and continuing for two years. The alleged victim claimed that Braun was very controlling, gave him special attention, and encouraged him to become a priest, which he eventually did. Braun served at St. Dominic’s from 1942 to 1949 and passed away in 1964. He was included in the 4/5/2023 MD Attorney General’s Report.
