Father William Jameson, also known as Jamison, was named in the MD Attorney General’s report released on April 5th, 2023. The report detailed a woman’s account, reported to the Archdiocese in 2007, of being sexually abused by Father Jameson when she was 13 years old in 1942 at Blessed Sacrament Parish in Baltimore. Jameson subsequently moved to the Archdiocese of Washington DC in the mid-1940s, and then to the Diocese of Joliet IL.
According to The Official Catholic Directory, Father Jameson was marked as Absent on Leave from the Joliet diocese between 1962-1972, before retiring for a year. From 1966-1969, newspaper notices listed him as being assigned to St. Anthony in Questa, NM in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, although he was not listed as such in the Directory. Father Jameson passed away in 1973.
