In 1996, a woman reported to the Jesuits that her uncle, Father William Walsh, sexually abused her and her sisters from the 1940s to the 1960s. He was removed from ministry, treated at St. Luke Institute, and relocated to a Jesuit residence in Baltimore. In 1998, the sisters publicly demanded his removal from the Georgetown campus. In 2018, the Jesuits listed Walsh as credibly accused with reports of abuse in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. He was also listed as credibly accused by the Archdiocese of Baltimore and the Archdiocese of Washington in 2019.
