A woman reported in April 2007 that her brother was sexually abused by Patrick McIntyre when he was in 7th grade at Bishop John Neumann School around 1980. Patrick McIntyre denied the allegations but was suspended from teaching by the Archdiocese, which also made a mandatory report to authorities.

McIntyre’s name was added to the Archdiocese’s “not eligible for hire/service” list, and a former coworker reported an incident of possible sexual misconduct involving McIntyre and a cousin. In July 2019, another man reported that he was sexually abused by McIntyre in 1981 when he was 12 years old. Despite the reports, McIntyre has not been listed as credibly accused by the Archdiocese, as he was a lay teacher, and the Archdiocese has only included clergy on the credibly accused list to date.
