Diocese: Archdiocese of Baltimore MD
In 2012, a 75-year-old woman reported that while she was receiving private voice lessons from Sister Francis Marie Yocum at Catholic High School in 1954, Francis Marie Yocum sexually abused her for a year. The abuse included kissing and fondling of her breasts and genitals. Yocum was an opera singer who led the glee club and a cappella choir. Yocum treated the victim as a “pet,” called her “chippy,” and was jealous of her friends and boyfriends. The Archdiocese reported the abuse to authorities. Yocum’s name is currently on the auditorium at Catholic High School, and she has not been listed on any credibly accused lists.
