New California Law Gives Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse More Time to File Lawsuits and Seek Justice

Catholic Church Sexual Abuse ScandalNewly passed California Assembly Bill 218 opens a three-year “look-back window” in which child sexual abuse survivors can pursue claims that had been previously time barred. Finally, survivors of clergy abuse now have the opportunity to seek justice for the abuse they suffered.  Under the new law, Courts will also be allowed to triple the amount of damages awarded to a victim if there was an attempted cover-up.
